Commercial Gastronorm Lid - 1/2 GN - Polycarbonate

A Gastronorm container (GN container) is an indispensable part of any commercial kitchen. In a professional kitchen you can never have enough GN containers or trays. Using GN trays with the same dimensions makes working in the kitchen far more efficient. Because GN containers are stackable, they are perfect for storage and take up little room in the kitchen. This lid is transparent and likewise made of polycarbonate, matching Maxima's polycarbonate GN containers.

What is Gastronorm?

Gastronorm is a worldwide standard for the size of these containers. The great advantage is that their identical dimensions let them be used in combination with a wide range of commercial kitchen appliances. GN containers are therefore suitable for use in ovens, fridges, freezers, prep fridges, display cabinets, bain maries and even chafing dishes. Using GN containers with the same dimensions makes working in the kitchen considerably more efficient. The GN container also meets European food safety requirements.

The advantages of polycarbonate

Using polycarbonate for GN containers and lids brings many advantages: the material is virtually indestructible and, thanks to its transparency, can be seen through from every side, so you can identify the contents of the container. It is also an odour-neutral and taste-neutral material that does not absorb those properties from the food. The biggest advantage, however, lies in how easy it is to clean: polycarbonate GN containers and lids are dishwasher safe, dry quickly and are temperature resistant from -40 to 100 °C.
